Essay

How can arguing and giving up any "right" to our own opinion save our lives, improve our country, and secure the future for the next generation?

The question above was asked by my teacher Doctor. Preston and it is really something to think about and not something you think about on a daily basis which means its not a subject that we normally talk about , which i believe shouldnt be normal we should be open to somebody asking us. "how can arguing and giving up any right to our opinion save our lives" ." Elizabeth Cady Santon  and Susan B. Anthony argued and gave there opinion on womens rights and  they fought and even though Susan B. anthony died and there was still no law for women to vote  she inspired many women to stand up and all of us fought together and the right to vote was given 14 years after her death she made a change , a big impact and she will always be remembered.

Now my answer to the  question "how can arguing and giving up any right our opinion save our lives" is ,my generation gave there opinion about black lives matter this quarantine and i believe that everyone should be treated the equally because skin color, religion and ethnicity dont matter we are all humans and i will always stand by that , this year I signed petitions and did the most i could to voice my opinion because BLACK LIVES MATTER and even though there hasnt been a change yet i think that our next generation will make a change because half of my generation will be raising our kids to do what is right and to not judge people by their skin color .

I think that this generation protesting will change our counrty because almost have us will be cops , doctors , and lawyers who will not be judging skin color because i know a lot of the adults right now are very racist and the cops now are judging, and they support white privellage.I believe that if we all work together we will be able to overcome racism because its a really unfair situation , I have experienced racism let me share my experience " i was in line we where about to pay and this guy came and said hey cant you see my stuff is here he only had a popsicle and no me and my cousin did not see it so we said sorry no we did not but he kept insulting us you should know my couisin had just turned six he said " You oaxaqeños are stupid and dumb , he said you guys should educate your selves i answered with sorry sir we didnt see your item and he said " are you stupid " i said excuse me and my little cousin said " i actually have papers so i can fly to mexico whenever i want" at that moment i was so proud of her but when we got to the car i explained why we shouldnt tell people or shame them if they dont have papers. I think the way she stood up for our race was amazing , and Yes we are oaxaqueños but it was really racist of him to already asume . I am a proud Chicana and ever since ,i have become more proud of my culture more than i already was. I hope my cousin can be a leader for her generation to stand up to racism and change our country .

How can arguing and giving up any "right" to our own opinion secure the future for the next generation? My little couisn of now 7 years of age knows what racism is and sadly had to live with seeing my dad arrested by ice at 5 years old and since then has always been really proud of her culture. One day her little friend came and said a very bad word which is known as the "n" word and she gasped and told me that her friend said it and to explain to her friend why we shouldnt say that word ,i asked her to tell her friend instead and she explained it so maturely and said it was very racist and she shouldnt say it.I think she will really make an impact in her generation.

So yes , I truly believe that our opinion and our voice makes a huge diffrence in the world and in our generation and i will keep fighting and i think everyone should too. This will change society by helping "ignorants" know that you should never judge someone by the color of their skin.
